How to Register Your Pet for an Activity or Contest

  • You must have ONE registration/waiver form completed for EACH dog that attends (even if not entering a contest) the WSCR Community Dog PAWty.
  • Registration forms will be available on site, but don’t wait in long lines to register. You can download and print your registration here.
  • Fill out each form completely and be sure to sign (must be signed by an adult over 18 years of age).
  • Bring your completed form to the REGISTRATION tent to get your activity and contest tickets.
  • You will receive one ticket for each activity/contest per dog.
  • If you are entering any of the contests, you must register at least 30 minutes prior to the relevant contest.
  • You must arrive at the Meeting Place, along the south side of the church 15 minutes before the start time.
  • The contests are limited to only 12 participants each; entries are accepted on a first come, first served basis.

ONGOING EVENTS from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM:

The Bark Yard, a Pop-Up, Off-Leash Dog Park:

  • An opportunity for you and your dog(s) to come to a fenced, outdoor area to socialize with other dogs, and other people.
  • Separate areas are available for large and small dogs.
  • If your dog is up to date on their vaccinations/titers (according to your vet’s recommendation), is not displaying any symptoms of illness, is not “in heat” and does not/has not displayed aggressive behaviour, he/she is welcome to attend.
  • All dog owners must supervise their dog at all times – you can’t leave him/her in the play area and take a look at the booths.
  • Each dog owner is responsible for picking up after their dog if necessary, and intervening if there are any behavioural issues. You may be asked to remove your dog from the event if there are conflicts between your dog and other people/dogs.
  • The number of dogs inside the Bark Yard at one time will be limited.
  • ***Very important do not feed your own dog, or any other dog, while you are in the play area. This may trigger aggression in some dogs.

The Rover Photo Booth:

  • Our Rover booth is a chance to get you and Rover dressed up in the costumes provided and have a photo taken.  You will get one strip of photos per dog. An activity ticket is required. Also take a selfie and post on Facebook page, or on Instagram using #wscrdogpawty and tag us: @wscrca.

Bobbing for Hot Dogs:

  • A version of “bobbing for apples” for Fido. See if your dog can nab those hot dog pieces out of the water! Did you know that hot dogs do NOT float? Start practicing now with your pooch so they can dive for those delicious snacks! An activity ticket is required.

The PAWty PAWsport:

  • Grab your PAWsport from the Registration Tent and complete it for a chance to win a raffle prize. There will be a question for each vendor booth that you will need to answer to complete the PAWsport. There are 17 prizes available!  The draws will be held at 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:55pm at the Contest Area in front of the church front doors. MORE PRIZES NOW AVAILABLE.

DOG CONTESTS:

12:00 PM: Longest Tail Contest CANCELLED Prizes will be added to the PAWty PAWsport Raffle draws.

If you think your dog has the longest tail in the community, enter them in this contest and see if you are right!

  • Register your dog at the Registration Tent by 11:30 pm.
  • Please arrive at the Meeting Place by 11:45 pm.
  • Limited to 12 contestants.
  • Prizes awarded at the PAWty!

1:00 PM: Shortest Ears Contest CANCELLED Prizes will be added to the PAWty PAWsport Raffle draws.
Location: Outside church front doors.

Who’s got the dog with the shortest ears? CANCELLED Prizes will be added to the PAWty PAWsport Raffle draws.

  • Register your dog at the Registration Tent by 12:30 pm.
  • Please arrive at the Meeting Place by 12:45 pm.
  • Limited to 12 contestants.
  • Prizes awarded at the PAWty!

Owner Look Alike ONLINE PHOTO CONTEST CANCELLED Prizes will be added to the BEST DRESSED DOG PHOTO CONTEST.
2:00 PM: Winners announced outside church front doors.

Dress up with your dog in matching or coordinated costumes, or maybe you already look like your dog so there’s no need to dress up! Then enter our online photo contest to win some great prizes.

  • Upload a photo of you and your dog here BY 1:00 pm on event day, Sept 18th!
  • You have the option to upload one or TWO photos. If you upload 2 photos, only the photo with you and your dog dressed up will be displayed in the public contest. We will keep the other photo with the person’s face exposed as private and use it for identification only.
  • The community will vote online for their favourite couple.
  • Voting will only be open from 6:00 am Sept 17th, to 2:00 pm on event day, Sept 18th!
  • Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the PAWty.
  • Contestants must arrive at the Meeting Place by 1:45 pm.
  • The human in the photo *must* be present at the event in  order to receive the prize.
  • Dogs are not required to be present at the event.
  • Limited to 12 contestants.

Best Dressed Dog ONLINE PHOTO CONTEST A TOTAL OF 9 PRIZES NOW AVAILABLE. Prizes will include those from the Owner Look Alike Contest.
2:30 PM: Winners announced outside church front doors.

Dress your dog up in a costume/outfit of any kind.  Think Howl-O-Ween! Then enter this online photo contest to win some great prizes.

  • Upload a photo of you and your dog (costume required for pooch) here BY 1:00 pm on event day, Sept 18th!.
  • You have the option to upload one or TWO photos. There must be a person in ONE of the photos. If you upload 2 photos, only the photo with your dog alone will be displayed in the public contest. We will keep the other photo with the person private and use it for identification only.
  • The community will vote online for their favourite couple.
  • Voting will only be open from 6:00 am Sept 17th, to 2:30 pm on event day, Sept 18th! 
  • Winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the PAWty.
  • Contestants must arrive at the Meeting Place by 2:15 pm.
  • The human in the photo *must* be present at the event in  order to receive the prize. 
  • Dogs are not required to be present at the event.
  • Limited to 12 contestants.
